The past few months have been very hectic as we have been preparing for the full site accreditation audit at Emerald Hill Residence.
The Australian Aged Care Quality Agency are responsible for assessing residential aged care homes every three years. The assessment framework comprises four standards; Management systems, staffing and organisational development; Health and personal care; Recipient lifestyle; Physical environment and safe systems. Each of these standards have a number of outcomes – 44 in total.
Emerald Hill Residence had three quality assessors on site for two days in April and I am very pleased to advise that we were compliant in all 44 outcomes.
I would like to acknowledge the exceptional effort made by many staff members who gave up part of their Easter break to assist in last minute preparation. It was a great team effort and I am grateful for such wonderful staff.
Both Emerald Hill and South Port are operating at capacity now so we are reviewing the options for the Claremont Home site. This will involve extensive community consultation along with detailed analysis of needs of older persons in the area.
