Music Therapy
At our South Port home, Burt bought out his purple ukulele to play along with Kerryn at Happy Hour on Fridays. Burt is a huge fan of music and comes out with a number of interesting facts about artists we love to play. Burt also received his iPod for personalised iPod therapy and shed a tear listening to ‘Old Shep’ by Elvis Presley.
Water Paints
Water painting is a fantastic way for our residents to continue to enjoy painting and creating art, even when they are unable to use a paintbrush confidently. By using tap water and a regular brush, our residents are able to reveal the painting hidden on the page and create beautiful art work.
St Patrick’s Day
On Friday 17th March 2017 our homes were decorated in green with banners, shamrocks, balloons and more! Our residents from each home gathered to celebrate with food and entertainment. St Patrick’s Day is important to our residents and gives them a chance to interact with each other and promotes community within our home.
Greek Independence Day
All our Greek residents were invited to have a get together and celebrate Greek Independence day. Our homes were decorated with Greek flags and colours and our residents enjoyed Greek food and music, with some residents enjoying traditional Greek dancing.
